Best CRM Tools for Ecommerce Sellers Managing Multiple Channels

CRM tools that fit a D2C or marketplace business trying to keep customer conversations and repeat buyers organized, without B2B pipeline bloat.

How we cover this: these picks reflect our own research and hands-on experience running ecommerce brands, not paid placement. Links currently point to each product's own site. Some may become affiliate links in future, which would be disclosed here at that point. Pricing and features change, always confirm current details before buying.

Most CRM software is built for B2B sales teams closing deals through a pipeline. An ecommerce business does not have a pipeline in that sense, it has customer conversations scattered across WhatsApp, Instagram, email and marketplace messaging, plus a repeat-customer base worth staying in touch with. These are the tools that actually fit that shape of business.

What an ecommerce CRM needs to do

Unify conversations from WhatsApp, Instagram and email in one place, tag and segment customers by purchase behavior, and integrate with Shopify so order history shows up next to the conversation. Anything beyond that is usually more process than a small team needs.

Zoho CRM

Part of the broader Zoho suite, which matters if you are already using Zoho Books or Zoho Inventory for accounting and stock. Strong customization for very little cost, though the interface feels more built for B2B sales teams than a D2C brand's customer relationships.

Freshsales

A lighter, faster-to-set-up option than Zoho CRM, with built-in phone and email tracking. A reasonable middle ground if you want real pipeline and lead-scoring features without a long setup process.

HubSpot CRM

Has a genuinely free tier that covers contact management and basic email tracking, which makes it a sensible starting point. The real cost shows up once you want the marketing automation features, which live behind HubSpot's paid Marketing Hub, not the base CRM.

Interakt or WATI (WhatsApp-first tools)

Built specifically around WhatsApp Business API, which is where a large share of Indian D2C customer conversation actually happens. Less a traditional CRM, more a shared WhatsApp inbox with basic customer tagging and broadcast messaging, worth it if WhatsApp is your primary support and re-engagement channel.

At a glance

Tool Best for Free plan WhatsApp-first
Zoho CRM Sellers already on Zoho Books/Inventory Limited No
Freshsales Fast setup, phone/email tracking Trial only No
HubSpot CRM Starting point, basic contact management Yes No
Interakt / WATI WhatsApp-heavy support and broadcast No Yes

How to choose

If WhatsApp is where most of your customer conversation already happens, start with a WhatsApp-first tool rather than forcing a traditional CRM into that role. If you are already inside the Zoho or another suite for accounting, staying in that ecosystem usually saves more setup time than the feature difference is worth.
