How to generate a barcode

  1. Enter your SKU or internal code.
  2. Choose a barcode type, Code 128 works for most internal tracking use cases.
  3. Click generate and preview it.
  4. Download the PNG and print it on your label printer.

Barcode types explained

Code 128

The best default for internal SKU codes and warehouse bin labels. Accepts letters and numbers, and does not require any registration.

EAN-13

The 13 digit barcode used on retail products. Only valid for an actual retail listing if the number is issued to you by GS1.

UPC-A

The 12 digit US retail standard, same GS1 registration requirement as EAN-13.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this barcode to sell on Amazon or Flipkart?

Not directly. Marketplace listings need an FNSKU (Amazon) or a GS1 registered EAN, issued through the marketplace or GS1 itself. This tool is for your own internal SKU tracking and warehouse labels, not for a live product listing.

What barcode printer should I use?

For 4x6 inch shipping and manifest labels, a printer in the TSC 345 range works well. For smaller 2x3 inch barcode or metrology labels at the packing station, a TSC 244 style printer is the common choice. Full hardware list in the Warehouse Setup Checklist.
