Why don't India and UK sizes always mean the same thing for women's shoes?
Historically most Indian footwear used UK sizing directly, but several Indian brands now print a "India size" that's offset by 2 from UK for women's styles specifically, a genuine, unresolved inconsistency across the market, not an error in this tool. When in doubt, go by foot length in cm.
Is US sizing the same for men's and women's?
No. US men's and US women's are two different scales (a US women's size is roughly 1.5-2 sizes larger than the equivalent US men's number for the same foot length), which is why this tool has separate Men's and Women's views rather than one shared table.
My exact size isn't in the table. What do I do?
Half sizes generally sit at roughly 0.4-0.5cm foot-length intervals between the listed rows. For a size chart you're publishing yourself, it's safest to also state the foot-length-in-cm range per size, since that's the one figure that doesn't vary by brand.
